बाबासाहेब आंबेडकरांनी देशाला जे काही अतिमहत्वाचे इशारे दिलेत त्यातला हा इशारा सर्वच सुधारणा चळवळींसाठी महत्वाचा आहे :
“तुम्हाला वाटेल त्या कोणत्याही दिशेने जा. जातीचा राक्षस समोर उभा राहणार. या राक्षसाला ठार केल्याशिवाय तुमची राजकीय सुधारणा नाही. तुमची आर्थिक सुधारणा नाही.”
[….turn in any direction you like, Caste is the monster that crosses your path. You cannot have political reform, you cannot have economic reform, unless you kill this monster…]
